Artcrush! Barron Storey: Victims

The prolific Barron Storey makes beautiful things. His last solo show at Ano Domini (San Jose) was inspired by his sculptures over the last 20 years. He also makes gorgeous journals which influenced John Copeland, who i probably want to marry. 

Tattooz of Shipz & Tattooz of Tearz

Bianca Casady, AKA Red Bone Slim, one half of the band CocoRosie, also applies her intrinsic animal-magic genius to the world of art. She had an exhibition a few months ago at the Deitch Projects in NYC, including painting, drawing, sculpture, video and installation art.    Zak Smith, also known as Zak Sabbath, indie porn star, makes art. I just got his book of 760 drawings called Gravity's Rainbow illustrated and its amazing. He's mainly based in NY, but his drawings were at the Walker this fall, and also at Kavi Gupta in Chicago. Check it.
